Linda specialises in science and mathematics education as well as having broader experience in assessment and international comparisons. She develops tests and teacher assessment materials, including electronic assessments and assessment guidance. She has also undertaken a variety of evaluations and surveys on wider educational research themes. Linda has led or worked on several international surveys of teaching and achievement, including TIMSS (mathematics and science), PISA (literacy in reading, mathematics and science), and ICCS (understanding of citizenship). She is National Research Coordinator for TIMSS.
Prior to joining the NFER, Linda was a primary teacher and subsequently a Further Education lecturer. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA) and a Practitioner of the Association for Educational Assessment (AEA-Europe).
