Gill Featherstone joined NFER in 2007 and has been a core team member on a range of projects which have utilised and extended both her qualitative and quantitative research skills and developed a sound knowledge of the English education system.
Gill has been involved in carrying out large-scale research projects for the TDA, DFE,and National College for School Leaders. She has also worked on a number of research projects focused around the NEET agenda and has a strong interest in wellbeing, student voice and the cross-cutting issues of partnerships, leadership and multi-agency working. With a background in Local Authority strategic policy-making in the areas of communities and spatial planning, Gill also has a keen interest in environmental education and sustainable communities. She has taken a lead role evaluating the Black Country Challenge and, more recently, has led evaluations of the ‘The Heroes Journey’ on behalf of Human Utopia and an Evaluation of Family Support to Children’s Centres on behalf of the London Borough of Sutton.
Gill has advanced skills in qualitative analysis and expert knowledge of review and qualitative analysis software.
