Emily Houghton has experience of using systematic procedures in searching a wide range of sources in order to identify all the available research evidence. Emily has worked on two internally funded literature reviews, working on assessing children with Autism and helping children with special needs through transition. Emily has also worked on a scoping study for the Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People’s Services (C4EO) looking into parents with physical and mental health issues. Emily has run workshops at the pre conference, LSIS conference and LSRN conference on using the internet to find research and as co-author an article on the subject.

Emily has recently completed a systematic search for Defra on Food Growing in Schools and is currently working on an internally funded project focusing on employer’s involvement in schools. Emily is also producing a tool-kit on how to run systematic searches for educational research resources, aimed at teachers and local authorities.
